Q: What kind of services do you provide?
A: Cobb’s Home Care Services provides private, non-medical, in-home care services for the senior community.
Q: Who can receive your in-home care services?
A: We offer services to older adults and senior citizens who need assistance as a result of aging, surgery, illness or dementia.
Q: Can Medicaid patients receive your services?
A: Yes, services that meet North Carolina Medicaid requirements are available for patients who qualify. You and our Home Care Coordinator will review your needs and the Medicaid guidelines to determine an appropriate care program.
Q: Where are your services available?
A: We provide services in the Piedmont Triad, including Winston-Salem, High Point, Greensboro, Burlington and surrounding areas. We are licensed in seven counties: Forsyth, Guilford, Davie, Stokes, Davidson, Alamance and Rowan.
Q: How much does your service cost?
A: Pricing is based on each family’s individual needs. Typically, we charge by the hour; however, certain programs or services are offered at a flat rate. During the care assessment process, you and our Home Care Coordinator will determine the types of services and number of hours required to best care for your loved one. Please contact us to learn more about our pricing.
Q: Do your in-home care services cost less than assisted-living or nursing homes?
A: In most cases, the answer is yes. Keep in mind that we customize services, so you will only pay for what you need.
It’s also important to note that we offer some services that you cannot receive at assisted-living facilities or nursing homes, such as our Family CareWatch™ program. Many families find the benefits of these services extremely valuable in improving their family’s emotional and physical well-being during the caregiving journey.
Q: How do you select your caregivers?
A: All of our caregivers are carefully screened prior to being hired, and they must successfully complete training in several areas prior to working with care recipients. View our Employee Screening & Training process.
Q: What happens if my caregiver goes on vacation, gets sick or fails to show up?
A: We plan for our caregivers’ vacations and arrange for substitutes in advance. We will always discuss these arrangements with you. If a caregiver should call in sick or experience an emergency, we have a list of caregivers who are on 24-hour call to fill in at a moment’s notice. If, in the unlikely event we cannot reach an on-call caregiver, the company owner will fill in himself until a caregiver can arrive. Unexcused no-shows are simply not tolerated at Cobb’s Home Care Services. We maintain a strict ethics policy, and we will deal swiftly with any caregiver who fails to adhere to it.
Q: Who pays my caregiver?
A: All of our caregivers are employees of Cobb’s Home Care Services, not independent contractors. You never pay them directly. We invoice you for their services.
Q: What happens if I discover my caregiver is not compatible with my loved one or family?
A: Since we use a unique YourChoice™ Caregiver Selection Process, we strive to ensure that your loved one/family and caregiver are compatibly matched from the onset. However, we are aware that sometimes even the best process may not be successful the first time. If you should discover any compatibility issues, we will work with you to resolve those issues quickly so that you and your loved one can be at ease.
